Rosh Hashanah

This package contains 2 ready to run sessions on the topic of Rosh Hashanah. The first file contains a ready to read nosh and learn session for lunchtime sessions that are between 30 minutes to an hour long. The aim of this is so that J-Soc chairs are able to pick it up and run with it themselves, using what they want and adapting the material based on how long the session is for. The second file contains a ready to read assembly on Rosh Hashanah, for assembly slots that are 10 to 20 minutes long. The idea is that these 2 types of programmes can be picked up and run by the anyone.

Rosh Hashana Nosh and Learn

(pdf 1603Kb)
This file contains a ready to run nosh and learn session on the concept of Rosh Hashanah as a time for self reflection and repentance (teshuvah). This session creates a space for participants to reflect on the previous year and begin to decide what they want to gain from the coming year and any changes they want to make in their lives and the way they treat people. The session in its entirety lasts for 45 minutes to an hour and is aimed to be run as a lunchtime nosh and learn session.

Rosh Hashanah Ready to Read Assembly (R2RA)

(pdf 499Kb)
This file contains a ready to read assembly on Rosh Hashanah. The title has been taken from the current September – December 2009 brochure – “The Jewish new year generally involves attending the synagogue, reciting prayers and eating a piece of apple dipped in honey. Why don’t we have a big party?” The assembly in its entirety lasts for about 15-20minutes with questions and discussion.
