Welcome to the world of UJIA JAMS!
This manual has been written to aid J-Soc chairs and their respective committees in the important task of organising Jewish activities in schools. I hope that the material is helpful and if you are ever in need of face-to-face training to enhance your skills further, please do not hesitate to contact the UJIA JAMS team.
The theme of the manual is Leadership Development which will focus on the core elements of what is involved in running a successful J-Soc. These include: working on a committee; Jewish educational programming; organising an event; managing a budget; time management; fundraising, marketing and publicity; and public speaking. Jewish life at school is extremely important. Unless J-Soc has something to offer – something warm and inspiring, people will turn elsewhere.
Thank you to all of you for choosing to be J-Soc representatives within your school. I am truly moved by such passion, dedication and commitment that you all give. You are doing such fantastic work and you need to be praised for that. Good luck to all of you who have either been elected or chosen to take on the role of organising your J-Soc over the forthcoming year. Remember that Neil and I are always here to help you. We want what is best for you and your J-Soc.
B’shalom
