Chazon intro day - 23rd August 2010
The Chazon process is to train and inspire youth movement workers; We introduced the community of movements to each other, and to the work they would be undertaking together in the year ahead.
Chazon - September 2010
The Chazon seminar took place in Israel - this year was in Tel Hai in the Galil, a visionary project in the making. Here the movement workers developed their visions and strategies in a supportive framework planned and facilitated by our team.
B'derech - 10th October 2010
B'derech - our cross communal hadracha (leadership) day for the post-Israel tour year group. It was the first of a two part series which will provide all movement madrichim (junior leaders) with the theory, skills and opportunity to take part in exciting practical leadership opportunities - look out for day 2 on Sunday April 10th!!
Chanukology - 15th November 2010
This Chanukah themed educational workshop presented 4 different takes on the story of Channukah and put them on trial. Each movement had the opportunity to focus on the most relevant educational slant for their movement and develop it into specific programmes.
Winter Training & Limmud - December 2010
Our team delivered a range of hadracha training sessions at the various movement winter camps and for Young Limmud madrichim. We also ran a variety of educational sessions at Limmud on topics ranging from 'Israeli MIA Soldiers' to 'Eaten and been satisfied? Jews and Food'. Contact us for any info on hadracha training or educational sessions - which we are happy to deliver at an event for and near you!
Jan Chazon day - 17th January 2011
This was a continuation of the Chazon process - a chance for movement workers to take time out to evaluate their progress so far, become re-inspired about their movements and determine how to put their ideas into practice for the rest of the year. This year we particularly focussed on how to engaging movement members in inspiring 'Israel' and 'Jewish' education.
Judaism 101 & Rabbis and Rebels - November 2010 to April 2011
This year we have been running two Jewish learning courses for informal educators: Judaism 101 introduced the group to various concepts and issues around basic Judaism; including theology, an overview of traditional text, and ideas around the Jewish home.
'Rabbis and Rebels' is a course introducing a range of key Jewish figures who were considered rebellious at their time - (eg The Ramchal, Rabbi Akiva, Rabbi Louis Jacobs, Moses Mendelssohn,) exploring the impact that they have since had and what we can learn about various approaches to ideological leadership. There are a few more sessions left of this series and we'd love to see you there - contact us for details
JLEChaver & Mentoring - all year round
Each movement has a JLEChaver (friend); a member of our team who specially dedicates more of their time towards visiting, training, supporting and educating their movement team. Each movement worker also has an individual mentor (a member of our team, or someone who we have trained) to provide non-managerial support and development opportunities and a general listening ear.
UJIA Lead Now - all year round
Lead Now is designed to give movement workers a framework to further their leadership skills and advance their career development opportunities. We have delivered sessions on a range of skills and sectors such as Finance, Communications, Social Action, Education, Management and Welfare. International Development and Business and Enterprise sessions are both coming up soon!

There are two kinds of tour:
• Students(in partnership with UJS, the Union of Jewish Students)
• Young Professionals.
Registration is open so contact Royi Gutkin , UK Birthright Coordinator, or go to the Birthright Website to sign up if you are aged 21-26 (20-26 if you're a student), have at least one Jewish parent or grandparent and have never been to Israel on an organised trip before (with school, youth group or education organisation) then you are eligible.
UJIA JAMS
In September UJIA JAMS launched its year with JAMSlam - an event which showcased the diverse range of programming that UJIA JAMS offers. The event attracted teenagers from across the UK to listen to speakers such as Lord Janner and Clive Lawton.
In the period from September to December UJIA JAMS organised and ran 224 sessions. By the end of July we are aiming to reach 500 sessions, which would be the highest number of sessions to be run in a single year. J-Socs in schools picked a range of topics from the newly designed UJIA JAMS brochure incorporating the new UR UNI LIFE section.
UR UNI LIFE, in partnership with AJ6 and UJS, is a new programme designed to build confidence in 6th formers before they arrive on campus. The programme allows them to explore all aspects of uni life from cooking skills to grappling with what Israel means to them. UR UNI LIFE has had over 30 sessions booked in from Jewish and mainstream schools as the foundations of the programme are being built. On March 13th 2011 the first day event for UR UNI LIFE took place at the UJS Hillel centre in Hillel attracting over 30 participants, a real success for the UJIA JAMS team.
